A cut peony fades in days. The porcelain one stays as it is.

Why it lasts

Real peonies last about a week. This one stays.

For anyone who is sad when flowers die: a bouquet that is still beautiful next year.

A House of Dehua flower is a porcelain flower diffuser: a peony, rose or carnation shaped by hand from porcelain clay and fired, so it never wilts. Add a few drops of oil and it scents the space around it.

The meaning

Flowers with a story attached

In China these flowers have carried meanings for a thousand years. Your customers get a gift with something to say.

  • The king of flowers

China calls the peony the king of flowers and gives it for prosperity and honour. Its old name, guose tianxiang, means “nation’s beauty, heaven’s fragrance”.

  • Scent and flowers, together

In Song dynasty China, burning incense and arranging flowers were two of the “four leisurely arts” of a cultivated home, with tea and hanging paintings. A porcelain flower that holds a scent brings the two into one piece.

  • A flower for every month

Chinese tradition gives each month its own flower and flower spirit. Our Twelve Flower Spirits let you give the flower of the month someone was born in.

Where it goes

A flower for every room, and every counter

It needs no light, no water and no socket, so it sits happily wherever a fresh flower would not last.

Three drops of oil into the centre of the flower.

How it works

Three drops, and the petals hold the scent.

  1. Lift the dome. The Open Peony has no dome: go straight to the petals.
  2. Add 3 to 5 drops of oil.Any essential or fragrance oil, dropped onto the centre of the flower.
  3. Let the porcelain do the rest.It absorbs the oil and releases it slowly. Refresh every two to three days.

Questions

What shop owners ask first

What is a porcelain flower diffuser?

A porcelain flower diffuser is a flower shaped from porcelain clay and fired, so it never wilts. You add a few drops of essential or fragrance oil to the centre; the porcelain absorbs the oil and releases the scent slowly. There are no reeds, no water and no electricity.

Do you sell wholesale to UK shops?

Yes. We supply independent gift shops, florists, home and lifestyle stores, small candle and fragrance brands, and hotels, spas, interior designers and corporate gift buyers. Opening orders start at £150 ex VAT, and you can mix designs and colours.

How long does delivery take?

Samples dispatch within 5 working days. Orders: allow 3–4 weeks from payment. Our studio closes for Chinese New Year from late January to 20 February 2027: spring orders (Valentine's, Mother's Day, Easter) by 15 December 2026.

Delivery itself takes 7 to 12 working days door to door by air.

Who pays import VAT and duty?

Shipped by air, DAP: delivery is quoted with each order, and you pay UK import VAT, any duty and the carrier's clearance fee on arrival (VAT-registered businesses can reclaim the import VAT). Allow 7–12 working days door to door.
